OUR VILLA IN THE HEART OF THE ITALIAN APENNINE MOUNTAINS
We originally discovered the house by accident when we first started exploring the Abruzzo after a few days in Rome on our way (circuitously) to Naples.
Built in the 1860's the house has been passed down the generations of the same Pelegrini family ever since being added to throughout. We acquired the house in 2004 renovating it in a sympathetic manner - keeping as many of the original features as possible.
Customary to the local historical development it is entirely built of stone - so internal ceilings have a domed appearance and floors are tiled.
At an altitude of 974m above sea level, Caporciano has a population of approx 300 inhabitants. It is 34Km from the Regions Capital - L'Aquila. Half an hour from the Adriatic Coast. Rome is an hour and a half away.
OUR COTTAGE IN THE HEART OF BRITTANY
The Cottage really found us more than 10 years ago when we where exploring Brittany. It is set on the edge of our village, in the heart of Brittany with wonderful views across the Valleys. Nearby are gorges, lakes and viewpoints. The location allows one to visit all of the many attractions of Brittany with ease. Local restaurants have plentiful Plat du Jour (4-6 course meals including wine) for ten or so Euros. Locarn, Callac, Rostrenen and St Nicolas-du-Pelem all offer good eating places, all within an easy drive.
